VSCO opens Chicago office and grows in Oakland

Author: Katy Shields

Our VSCO team has been hard at work building a rapidly-growing community of creators from around the world. To further fuel this growth, we’re building our team and opening a new office location in Chicago, Illinois this Fall and expanding our office in Oakland, California.

As we grow, we’ve thought carefully about which cities represent what we stand for at VSCO. With a strong talent pool, a city-wide appreciation for the arts, and a diverse mix of cultures and points of view, Chicago was an easy choice. Chicago also represents one of our most active communities of creators. As part of our entry into Chicago, we will be working closely with The Hoxton, Chicago team to build out VSCO’s footprint in their new co-working space, Working From_, launching this November. Our Chicago office will represent a cross-section of all disciplines with a focus on driving and accelerating our revenue and monetization efforts.

At our Oakland headquarters, we will be adding another floor to our office space at 1500 Broadway in thriving downtown Oakland. We are taking over an additional 25,000 square feet of multi-use office space on the 4th floor, bringing our total space in Oakland to 75,000 square feet. The new floor will be home to more desks, conference rooms, dining area and a 250-seat auditorium with live stream and production capabilities. We will also be building out dedicated spaces for our popular Open Studio and Micro Gallery programs. With dozens of galleries and art spaces only blocks away, our hope is that our offices can provide additional inspiration in the communities we work.

Oakland and Chicago both reflect the diverse, creative, and dynamic communities that we see on VSCO. As we continue building a platform that encourages self-expression, we want to ground our teams in cities that mirror our creative spirit. And our hope is to also work closely with local community organizations and partners where we are based, which today includes the Oakland School for the Arts, Global Glimpse and Camp Reel Stories in Oakland.

We’re looking for passionate people across all disciplines to join the VSCO team to help us build the most iconic creative community. We think that could be you. If you agree, please check out our open positions to apply!
