Introducing Montage: First-Ever Multimedia Creation Tool on VSCO

By: Team VSCO

Today, we’re excited to debut Montage, our first-ever multimedia creation tool on VSCO that brings your visual storytelling to life in a new dynamic way through video. Montage offers a blank canvas for your creativity and limitless options for self-expression. You can stack and layer in one or more videos, photos, colors, and shapes to create a unique collage-like video. Perhaps you want to capture your favorite street style shots, memorialize your first festival experience, or create a birthday tribute for a friend to celebrate your friendship. With Montage, you can now bring your favorite moments to life, scene by scene. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the diverse perspectives and stories that make you, you.

We know you’ve been asking for more creation and editing tools, particularly video tools. Rest assured, we have more video enhancements and updates coming for creators on VSCO. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what you make with Montage. Here’s how to get started:

  • You can access Montage from your VSCO Studio. To start, you will select an aspect ratio (portrait, square or landscape are the options) as your canvas and from there, you can begin adding multiple photos and videos from your camera roll to create scenes.

  • Each Montage can be made up of multiple “scenes” stitched together. Have fun with it by adding in different colors and shapes to create a moving collage effect. With ease, you also have the ability to adjust the opacity of any image layered in, which creates an eclectic range of customized gel colors and double exposures.

  • There is no limit to the number of scenes you can include in your Montage video.

  • Once your Montage video is saved you’ll have the option to post it to VSCO or off platform.

  • While there is no time limit to how long your Montage video can be when saving to your camera roll, there is a two-minute cap for Montage videos posted to your VSCO feed.

While everyone will have access to play with the new Montage tool, you will need a VSCO subscription to save and post a completed Montage video on VSCO or off platform. Our subscription now offers exclusive access to Montage, ability to edit and post videos to VSCO, more than 200+ VSCO presets, educational content and challenges, and much more. Montage is available on iOS and Android globally starting today. We can’t wait to see what you create.
